My research interests analyze the lingering effects of past public policy in minority communities, and how adaptive reuse can be used as a tool to address the persistent disparities. PRESENT

In recent months, groups of migrants have gathered near the U.S. border walls for days or weeks at a time in hopes of a new beginning. They have journeyed far from their own country, leaving everything behind. These are some of the future users of our designs for these family shelters. As asylum seekers, they have few rights as they wait for their case to be heard.
A website was created to communitcate collaborative research to a wider audience regarding trauma informed design through the post-professional MA program in Adaptive Reuse at Rhode Island School of Design.
Crossing Boundaries utilizes light to cross boundary lines to attract people to the Local at night. Light will shine from the projection tower stage, event stair, museum stair, and lantern canopy towards Phoenix Park, Water Avenue, Franklin Street, and Alabama Avenue.
Modern day Piazza Venezia is dominated by vehicles. The design intention of the piazza redesign was to reconnect the area by removing vehicular traffic, implementing four primary spaces of intervention, and redirecting attention to historical landmarks on the periphery of the piazza.
