Crossing Boundaries utilizes light to cross boundary lines to attract people to the Local at night. Light will shine from the projection tower stage, event stair, museum stair, and lantern canopy towards Phoenix Park, Water Avenue, Franklin Street, and Alabama Avenue. The event stair emits an even glow in order to reveal the people and activity occurring within the stair. The interior museum stair crosses vertical boundaries within the building and highlights the historical artifacts as one progresses up. The lantern canopy activates the sidewalk and building facade, which provides visual security for both the interior and exterior at night. Crossing Boundaries additionally spans boundaries by providing interactive seating arrangements and flexible housing options.
